In company with colleagues
generally, all the doctors operating
in the Practice are committed
to keeping their skills and
knowledge up to date. All GPs
undergo an annual externally
conducted appraisal and as a
Practice we ensure that all members
of staff undergo appropriate
and regular training as well as
annual appraisals.
The Practice is involved in the
training of medical students and
nurses: we regard it a privilege
to have students allocated to us on
a regular basis. We fully understand
that being examined
in the presence of a third party, or
discussing very personal and
intimate matters within the
hearing of a stranger is never easy
or comforting. Consequently, we very
much appreciate the
co-operation and support we receive
from patients in this respect:
accommodating the
training of medical students does
mean we are contributing in no small
way to securing the
future of the health service.
